Discover VIZZ: A New Option for Clear Near Vision

If you have noticed blurry near vision, difficulty reading small print, or struggle with close up tasks as you age you might be interested in VIZZ. VIZZ is the first eye drop of its kind approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for age-related blurry near vision (presbyopia). It offers a fresh alternative to traditional reading glasses, bifocals, or multifocal contact lenses.

What VIZZ Does and How It Works

VIZZ contains the active ingredient aceclidine. When applied, it causes the iris sphincter muscle to contract so the pupil becomes smaller. This constriction creates a “pinhole effect” that increases the depth of focus in your eye so near objects appear sharper. Importantly, this effect improves near vision without negatively impacting distance vision.

Many people notice clearer near vision within 30 minutes of use and the effect can last for up to 10 hours. This gives you flexible, glasses-free near vision for most of the day if the drops are prescribed and used properly.

Who Might Benefit from VIZZ

VIZZ may be a good option for adults experiencing presbyopia — the gradual age-related loss of near vision that often begins in the mid-40s and continues into later decades. If you find yourself reaching for reading glasses more often to look at phone screens, menus, books or labels VIZZ could help. Some studies included participants who wore contact lenses, had LASIK or had prior cataract surgery and still experienced improved near vision with VIZZ.

For many, VIZZ offers freedom from constantly needing reading glasses and flexible vision that adapts to daily needs like reading phone messages, cooking, or working at a computer.

What to Know Before Trying VIZZ

Because VIZZ works by narrowing the pupil, some people may experience temporary side effects like mild irritation at the instillation site, eye redness, headache, or temporary dim or dark vision. Many of these side effects are mild and resolve on their own.

If you wear contact lenses you will need to remove them before using VIZZ and wait about ten minutes before reinserting them.

Because vision may be temporarily dim or dark, it is not recommended to drive or operate heavy machinery until vision returns to normal clarity.

As with any prescription treatment you should talk with your eye doctor to make sure VIZZ is a good match for your eyes and visual needs.
