Red Eye Evaluations

Red eye(s) is caused by swollen or dilated blood vessels on the sclera, the white outer surface of the eye. There are many reasons your eyes can be red including:

  • Conjunctivitis “Pink Eye”
  • Allergies
  • Corneal Ulcer
  • Contact Lens related Corneal Ulcer or Infiltrates
  • Dry Eyes
  • Subconjunctival hemorrhage (broken blood vessel of the sclera)
  • Ocular Herpes
  • Eye Trauma
  • Glaucoma
  • Computer Eye Fatigue
  • Many More

Treatment for red eyes varies, depending on its cause. Dr. Alamo-Leon will evaluate you and prescribe the treatment needed to remedy your red eyes, including antibiotics and allergy drops. If  red eyes are accompanied by eye pain, light sensitivity, swelling or blurry vision please call or come into our office immediately for urgent treatment.
